Why Medvia
Admissions guidance that reflects how the process works today
Medical school admissions in the UK has changed significantly in recent years. Scoring systems, UCAT weighting, interview formats, and contextual admissions policies are updated regularly. Medvia advisors have been through the UK application process recently and understand the current landscape from the student's perspective, making our guidance both more accurate and more relatable than advice from those who qualified many years ago.
Current, first-hand knowledge
Our advisors are current medical students who applied within the last few years. They understand what the process actually looks like right now, not how it worked a decade ago.
Research-driven strategy
We analyse each university's specific admissions criteria, including GCSE weighting, UCAT scoring, and interview formats, so students apply where they are genuinely well-positioned.
Relatable mentorship
Students respond differently to guidance from someone who recently sat in their seat. Our advisors understand the pressures, the uncertainty, and what it takes to succeed.
Complementary to your team
Medvia works alongside your existing UCAS and careers staff, not in place of them. We bring focused medical admissions knowledge that most schools do not have in-house.
Our Advisor Panel
Medical students from across London's leading schools
Every Medvia workshop and partnership programme draws on a panel of advisors who are current students at some of the UK's most competitive medical schools. This means your students hear directly from peers who have successfully navigated the same process they are about to face.
Panel composition varies by session and availability. Medvia will confirm which schools are represented in advance of each workshop or partnership programme. Where possible, we match panel advisors to the universities your students are most likely to apply to, so the guidance is as relevant and targeted as possible.

How It Works
Simple to set up, straightforward to run
Getting started with a Medvia partnership is designed to be as easy as possible for your team. We handle the content and delivery. You simply introduce us to your students.
Initial Conversation
We start with a short call with your Head of Sixth Form or UCAS coordinator to understand your cohort size, the schools your students typically apply to, and what support would be most useful. There is no obligation at this stage.
Tailored Proposal
We send a written proposal setting out the programme, panel composition, delivery format, and fee. Everything is confirmed in writing before any commitment is made.
Delivery
We deliver the workshop or annual programme as agreed. For annual partnerships, we work with your students throughout the application cycle, keeping your UCAS team informed of progress.
Review
At the end of the academic year we provide a summary of the support delivered and outcomes where known. Annual partnerships are renewed each September ahead of the new application cycle.
Who This Is For
Built for schools with serious medicine applicants
Medvia's school partnerships are designed for schools where medicine is a meaningful destination for sixth form students and where the quality of admissions support directly affects outcomes.
Private and Independent Schools
For schools with established medicine programmes seeking dedicated external support to complement their in-house UCAS team.
Grammar Schools
For selective state schools with high-achieving cohorts where medicine is a common aspiration and strategic admissions guidance makes a measurable difference.
Strong State Sixth Forms
For state schools and sixth form colleges with motivated medicine applicants who would benefit from access to the kind of focused guidance typically only available privately.
